I was 8 years old when I first got my hands on a computer and since then I never have been able to get my hands off them.

Using computers quickly developed to become my passion and my future career. During childhood, I used a computer mostly for entertainment such as gaming, talking to my friends, or watching movies.

By the time I was 10 years old, I was introduced to Runescape & World of Warcraft (addicting MMORPGs) by my classmate. These games totally sucked me in and the only time I got off my computer chair was either to go to school, eat or sleep.

At the time, it seemed like I was wasting my valuable life but in reality, I was learning a lot of skills that’d turn out to help me in the future.

During my gaming life, I was addicted to ‘stress’ and challenges. By stress, I mean taking leadership roles. As soon as I joined World of Warcraft and learned about guilds, the first thing I wanted to do was create my own guild – which I did and ran successfully for 3 years before moving onto another online game called Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Multiplayer.

Guess what? In SA-MP, I quickly rose through the ranks to become a virtual kingpin. But that’s a story for another day.

Due to my craze for computers and wanting to revolve my whole life around it, I ended up doing a bachelor’s in software engineering and graduated with 3.23 CGPA.

During my university life, I founded a local health tech startup and raised investment – which was one of my proudest moments during university.

Somewhere in between, I also started freelancing and rose to a reputable level 2 seller on Fiverr before starting my own software solutions company

Although I dont spend as much time gaming as I used to, I believe if I didn’t spend my childhood gaming non-stop like a hobo – I wouldn’t have the acquired qualities that helped me become the person I am today.

I consider myself lucky enough to be born in the time when I could see science-fiction turning into reality. As a kid, I was always fascinated by electronic gadgets including camcorders, digital calculators, radios, walkie-talkie sets, TVs, and more.

With the inception of satellite television, the world saw an influx of hundreds of new TV channels including MTV which proved to be a revolution for the tech-hungry generation.

I remember the first gaming console I had – the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It produced great graphics and sound output with an amazing library of games including Super Metroid, Donkey Kong World, and the Super Mario series.

A couple of years later I switched to Sony, with the PlayStation becoming the most popular choice of gamers all over the world.

As a school kid, I had the ample opportunity to explore all the disciplines that would pave the way for my destiny as a computer engineer turned gaming writer.

This also opened new doors in my mind as I transformed from a pure console gamer into a PC fanboy in the late 90s with the release of Windows 98 operating system coupled up with solid hardware capabilities that created a boom in the personal computer market.

Over the next few years, computer gaming surpassed the popularity of console gaming with releases like Unreal Tournament, Quake 3, and Doom. These games also laid the foundation for modern FPS games.

As my inclination towards computers grew stronger, it made me curious about how video games were made, and how a program code of a few hundred pages would shapeshift into a visually stunning 3D game.

This motivated me to get enrolled in the Bachelors of Computer Engineering. My time at the university further propelled me towards concepts like online multiplayer gaming, MMORPGs, and more.

My interest in writing and my passion for video games set me on the right track to becoming a gaming writer.
